Although there is still a lot of testing to be done, the RA 225 already looks like a worthy contender among the best SMGs in the game. It competes closely and even excels at midrange thanks to its time to kill (TTK) during the second damage falloff. He is also known for his quick shot, which helps him get past him up close. According to TrueGameData, the weapon has a rate of fire of over 840 RPM.
Another advantage of using the RA 225 is that there are multiple versions that work for different styles of play. For example, you can build it to have fast TTK, or you can equip it as a sniper support weapon, with several options in between. All in all, we’ll have to wait for the seasonal changes to kick in to see exactly where this weapon falls into place, but so far it’s great.

With this setup, it’s best to focus primarily on close range performance to ensure you win the majority of firefights in a 10 meter or so radius.
Start with the recoil booster muzzle, which increases the rate of fire of the RA 225 and speeds up the TTK. This will help a lot during those close combats. Then go for the Urban Rapid 11-inch barrel for another increase in rate of fire, making this weapon much more effective up close.
After that, we generally recommend using a slate reflector optic for SMG builds, but as always, use what you like best (just be careful not to pick one that will hurt your scope timing). It is also better to use the Moravec MB stock to improve hipfire accuracy, movement speed, and sprint speed to fire.
Then equip the Mark VI Skeletal Underbarrel for another boost to ADS speed, movement speed, and hipfire accuracy. When it comes to the magazine, the best option is the 55mm round 9mm barrel. Note that this is great for Trio and Quad, but you can definitely get away with smaller magazine sizes for smaller game modes.
Since this build does not use a silencer, you must equip subsonic ammo, which prevents you from spawning on the minimap. Then use Taped Grip for better sprint-to-shot speed, movement speed, and overall sprint speed.
In terms of weapon perks, we recommend using Sleight of Hand as the RA 225 has a very high rate of fire. You’ll run out of ammo quickly, so being able to reload faster will certainly save your life. Finish the build with Quick Perk 2 for increased run speed.

Picking perks often comes down to playstyle, but some perks stand out above others. To start with, we almost always recommend using the Quick Fix perk, especially if you’re an aggressive player. This perk instantly restores health after securing a takedown or applying an armor plate. Then use the Tempered Perk, which allows you to reach max armor using only two plates instead of three. Finally, choose Amped to switch weapons faster.

Once again, gear options often come down to preference. We like using Throwing Knives, especially in Resurgence modes, as this item allows you to quickly finish off downed players without using ammo. You can then immediately switch your attention to other players that appear. We also highly recommend using Stims for instant health regen, even while in gas.
