Linda Kebbab, spokeswoman for the police union Unité-SGP-FO, announced the filing of the complaint following a tweet by a journalist and activist who called it “ADS: Arab service”.
A spokesman for the Unité-SGP-FO police union told AFP on Thursday that it had filed a complaint against journalist and activist Taha Bouhafs for publicly insulting a racist after a tweet he later deleted.
In a message on the social network Twitter, Taha Bouhafs commented on an excerpt from Linda Kebbab’s response to the media from: Arabic Service”, before deleting his tweet while justifying his comment in another message.

“I guess I deleted my last tweet because I forgot to say the word ra*eb, which might be worth a Twitter ban in case of mass reports :),” he writes, referring to a previous suspended account on a completely different topic.

“I could settle my bills if the media got involved, but this is a real delusion of journalists and activists with influence on social networks. It’s very painful and shocking,” said Linda Kebbab, ensuring that his union will also form a civil part.

Very active in the media, the spokesperson of the Unit-SGP-FO regularly appears on social networks. A clip of his radio interview targeting Taha Bouhafs was the case of Adame Traoré, a young black man who died in 2016 after being arrested by gendarmes.
Invested, in particular, in condemning police violence, Taha Bouhafs was at the source of the spread of a video showing policemen uttering racist insults during an arrest in Ile-Saint-Denis in April, for which he suspended two officials.
