PSV eindhoven on Friday, Roger Schmidt, has been appointed as a coach for the following season. The 52-year-old German signed a two year contract with the Locals.
Schmidt, from next year, the duties of The Faber, which, since the end of last year as an interim coach for the group, after the dismissal of Mark van Bommel. Faber returns this summer and will be back as head of the junior school.
“From the very first conversation I had with a good feeling for PSV”, said Schmidt, at the site of the PSV. “During the talks with the Show Gerbrands, John de Jong, I got a good idea on the way to work and realized that I have always stressed that the vision of the pitch in professional football to me.”
Until this past summer, Schmidt was still coach of China’s Beijing Guoan, where he was at the end of July, after a two-year lay-offs. The ex-footballer is known to have been periods of time when Red Bull Salzburg (2012-2014), Bayer Leverkusen (2014-2017).
