The Rolling Stones have threatened to sue US President Donald Trump if he continues to use one of their songs, You Can’t Always Get What You Want, at campaign events.

The British rock band is complying with the US music rights organization BMI, which has warned that any future use of the Rolling Stones’ work by the Donald Trump campaign would be a violation of its licensing agreement with the organization.

“BMI notified the Trump campaign on behalf of the Stones that unauthorized use of their songs would be a violation of the license agreement,” according to a press release issued by the Hollywood-based news site Deadline. Deadline’s article was retweeted by the legendary rock group’s official Twitter account.

“If Donald Trump is ignored and persists in doing so, then he would be sued for violating the embargo and banned from playing his music,” the press release reads.
