The idea was to have a house to buy a job for my husband when he was here, but in the end we gave up.” The family bought Finca Las Nuevas with an olive and almond orchard surrounding it.
“The first year was not easy. The Andalusian law makes it difficult to sell, and only after a year, we had all the permits solved. Now it will be very good, because we have a lot of do-it-yourself, maintenance and promotion of our company. In the Netherlands, I had everything: a good job, a nice house. I know I’m not able to. I have to learn a new language, meet people, get used to an unknown destination, I feel like I’m back on the harsh stage!”

It’s also very easy to take a nap in the Netherlands, says Of the Latter. “Sometimes I turn on the Dutch radio, and it says that the announcer is at six o’clock, everything is ‘good’. The day is very busy. In Holland, you live according to a certain pattern, but here I am in the middle of nowhere. It doesn’t matter how you arrange your home, what wear clothes; everything is much more relaxed. We have modest plans for the future.
