The way from the Netherlands: I am dutte, in Spain, we are back again on their toes

You see them everywhere: for Dutch entrepreneurs in foreign countries. Why is it that everything that will ever just pack up and leave, and the grass really is much greener on the other side? This week: Total Potonji, who bought a Spanish finca for sale to rent to tourists.

what is Why is a gray, damp country like Holland starting over if it was a sunny country, with its olive and almond trees, mountains and singing birds? After four years in Saudi Arabia, buy Total Ms. van Riel, and her husband, Robert, cottages or farms with a large plot of land in the south of Spain for rent: Finca Las Nuevas.

In Brunei, it was interesting to look at, not the works, she says, and she filled her time with volunteer work, clubs and training as a yoga instructor. “I didn’t have a work visa and my caller ID was housewife. I thought that was very reasonable. I still have to try if there are unemployed people, it could continue, but, no, no.” An independent runs a guesthouse in Spain, it’s a breath of fresh air, says Of the Latter.

“A lot of work to do it alone. We sat with the family for four years, between jobs, my husband is an oil company, and when four years passed, we didn’t know what to expect. My husband applied for several positions and was adopted in the UK . He works there now on a rotating basis.”

This means working in: Kazakhstan for 28 days in a row, and more than 28 days. “The family couldn’t go, and I saw that this was really better than looking for a job in the Netherlands. We also thought it would be a good idea to start a klusproject, so that he has something to do on the days he was at home. After four years, the summer in between we didn’t go back to gray in the new year! Our family lives here, but we can see you well in between.”

It’s not a house, though. The family’s decision will not be the first to go with the plan of action, and to fill the full container and send it to Spain. “We rented a house and were looking for a place to rent and live in. The idea was to have a house to buy a job for my husband when he was here, but in the end we gave up.” The family bought Finca Las Nuevas with an olive and almond orchard surrounding it.

“The first year was not easy. The Andalusian law makes it difficult to sell, and only after a year, we had all the permits solved. Now it will be very good, because we have a lot of do-it-yourself, maintenance and promotion of our company. In the Netherlands, I had everything: a good job, a nice house. I know I’m not able to. I have to learn a new language, meet people, get used to an unknown destination, I feel like I’m back on the harsh stage!”

“But we don’t make too many long-term plans. We will enjoy just like vrijheidsgevoel” Total p. van Riel

It’s also very easy to take a nap in the Netherlands, says Of the Latter. “Sometimes I turn on the Dutch radio, and it says that the announcer is at six o’clock, everything is ‘good’. The day is very busy. In Holland, you live according to a certain pattern, but here I am in the middle of nowhere. It doesn’t matter how you arrange your home, what wear clothes; everything is much more relaxed. We have modest plans for the future. We hope my husband will retire early, so we put together a farm can be difficult. We have to build a tiny house and there is still work to do with our fruit trees. However, we do not have too many long-term plans. We’ll enjoy her like vrijheidsgevoel!”
