There’s a venomous spider hiding in the grass… but you can YOU spot it?

THIS incredible photo shows a potentially deadly animal: a four-inch venomous wolf spider that lurks in plain sight.

Hobbyist photographer Adam Newport took the illusion-style image outside his home in Queensland, Australia, and says everyone who has seen his image refuses to believe there is a spider there.

But can you spot the eight-legged reptile?

When the location of the secret spider is revealed, the perfectly camouflaged insect, which can cause meat to rot if its venomous bite is left untreated, can be seen hiding in the grass.

Adam, a courier driver and part-time male model, said: “I caught this wolf spider at home in the bathroom and brought it across the street to release on the lawn.

Did you find the spider? Adam says that most people don't even believe the spider is there.

“It was supposed to be 10cm wide, but when I lowered it I was surprised at how well and how quickly it clicked on.

“I put it on the grass and I thought I was looking at it, but it was actually somewhere else in a different place.

“It was like an optical illusion. A lot of people told me there was nothing there.”

“When you first look at the photo, it looks like grass, it’s invisible. But when you look closely, a spider is lurking.”

“When people realize they’re in awe, they don’t believe there’s a spider, so when they see one, they go ‘wow!'”

Wolf spider venom can be extremely painful, but it is usually not life-threatening.

However, in some cases it can cause skin necrosis (where the flesh has been eaten), but there are no reports of the creatures causing human death.

However, self-taught trapper Adam said that if a wolf spider bite goes untreated, it can lead to a life-threatening infection.

The 38-year-old added: “Wolf spiders are quite common in homes in this area, I’ve seen two in my house in the last seven or eight years, but they can be dangerous if they bite you.”

“They wouldn’t cause death from the bite itself, as their venom is not life-threatening, but they can cause a skin infection if they bite you, which could be fatal if the infection spreads far enough.”

“You have to go straight to the doctor as soon as you get bitten. It swells up and burns a hole in the skin and eats the flesh.”

“How well it can camouflage itself definitely makes it more dangerous: if you step on it barefoot, it’s bound to bite you.

“The wildlife in Australia is unique. There are many animals here that blend in well and blend in with everything.”

Last week, a similar photo circulated, featuring a cunning poisonous snake hiding among a bunch of leaves.
