This Call of Duty-themed haptic feedback vest brings you closer to the battlefield

Woojer, a specialist in touch and sound accessories, has teamed up with Activision to create a surprising product that will enhance your Call of Duty experience. Fans can grab the Call of Duty-branded Woojer haptic vest and belt, releasing just in time for the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.

The limited edition wearable, which is a variation on Woojer’s usual line of haptic gear, features a green camouflage pattern. Both have wireless output and can be connected to Bluetooth headphones with up to 7.1-channel surround sound to create tactile vibrations on your body. That means you’ll feel every shot you fire—and the ones that hit you.

Woojer describes the haptics as technology created “to provide the most immersive gaming experience possible.” Its strap in particular is said to “transmit the sensation of the sound of every gunshot, footstep, explosion, or even gentle raindrops, as if they were really there.” The vest goes a little further, focusing the sensation in different parts of the body.

“Woojer’s precise sound-based haptics work right out of the box with an advanced DSP algorithm to detect sound type and direction as encoded in the audio stream,” Woojer says in a blog post. “The Woojer device then replicates the sound sensation on the user’s body in one location if using the strap and from six unique locations if wearing the vest.”

If you’ve ever wanted to go that much further with your Call of Duty haptics, Woojer’s set of haptics can be pre-ordered on his site for a limited time only, starting at $179.
