If you’ve always wanted a full-featured camper trailer, but don’t have a truck or SUV to haul it, we may have found what you need. The Tipoon is a small pop-up camper that’s light enough to be towed by a car, but expands in size to provide enough living space to comfortably accommodate up to four people, all at the push of a button.
Designed to be a modular and expandable living space, the Tipoon stands just 5.5 feet tall and 5.5 feet tall when folded down into trailer mode. Depending on the trailer’s drawbar length, the camper is between 13.5 and 14.7 feet long, making it fairly compact and easy to tow behind a variety of vehicles.
In addition to trailer mode, the Tipoon also has two other modes, half-open and full-open, both of which are activated simply by using the included remote control. When in semi-open mode, the camper rises to a full height of 8.3 feet, providing 6 feet 2 inches of interior space. Additionally, a side wing of the pod will open, allowing access to the shower, toilet, and sink. Full mode also opens the second wing of the camper and causes the Tipoon to automatically stabilize and level with the ground. This is used when you are camping or setting it up in your backyard.
Within Tipoon, you will find tons of interesting content. For example, the kitchen has a stove, refrigerator, and space to prepare meals, while the bedroom is equipped with a double bed. The living room also has a fold-out dinette and a second bed that tucks away conveniently when not in use. The LED lighting provides illumination and is powered by a system of rechargeable batteries, which will eventually be compatible with solar power for charging on the go.
The team behind the Tipoon say it’s small enough to fit in almost any garage and will even fit in a standard parking space. Prices start at $29,500, though the RV is highly customizable, which could cause the price to fluctuate quite a bit. Orders are being accepted for delivery in June.
