A total of seven skulls were found in his apartment, as well as a human heart in the freezer. An altar was also made with candles and human skulls in her closet. After being arrested, Jeffrey confessed and began to reveal the gruesome details of his crimes to the authorities.
On July 22, 1991, Tracy was hailed a hero for leading police to uncover 17 dismembered victims of Jeffrey Dahmer, ending a cannibalistic murder spree by one of the nation’s most notorious killers. Police found the remains of several men and immediately arrested Dahmer.
After the event, Tracy filed a lawsuit against the Milwaukee court for allegedly failing to follow up on previous leads on Dahmer. The case was dismissed.
