Lady Seyitan Babatayo, who accused singer Dbanj of robbing her at the Glee Hotel on Victoria Island, Lagos, in 2018, has been arrested by Nigerian police.
Seyitan that a few weeks before this article accused D’Banj of sexual assault.
Around noon yesterday, Seyitan was and remains detained at Sodipo Ikeja and has not been allowed access to friends, family or lawyers, Kiki Mordi said.
“I have reason to believe that his deal has been delayed (which is real) and this has led to D’Banj and his team going after everyone, including his former manager who corroborated Seyitan’s story.
I have spoken to her lawyers and they also have reason to believe that she is being forced to drop her charges, but since no one has access to her, it is hard to tell! They asked for bail and we crossed our fingers.>
I argue that there is NO reason why she was kept in a police cell for so long. She is not the first woman to end up in jail for telling her story of abuse in recent weeks!”
Seyitan was released.
