Max Verstappen will make sure he is kept busy during the Dutch Grand Prix in early May. A person does not plan to be very eventful so that they can focus on the road.
The 22-year-old Verstappen took as an example Daniel Ricciardo, who had a busy schedule in the last few years, and also had a home race in Melbourne.
“Daniel was my teammate. I could see what was happening with him, it happened in Australia,” said the Red Bull driver on Thursday, a day of preparation, in Barcelona, Spain. “It was very difficult for him. I won’t let that happen.”
The stumbling block is the fact that he is returning to Zandvoort for Formula 1, and the right crew and you know for sure that a lot of attention is being paid to the race and there will be. “You know, I’m working on a performance. I’m going to focus on myself.”
The eight-time winner of the Grand Prix praised the passionate Oranjefans that in the Netherlands the stands will be full of people. “Of course I want you to have a great weekend. But people have to understand that I have to perform to make the weekend really successful.”
The new Formula 1 season starts on March 15 in Australia. The Grand Prix will be held in the Netherlands on May 3.
