Victor Cruz Shows what Is on his Super Bowl LV menu

Former New York Giants wide receiver Victor Cruz is back in action with his older friend Eli Manning, offering a little culinary training for a Super Bowl victory feast.

“While it may seem like the Super Bowl is unlike any other, we want to inspire football fans to continue to enjoy the great tradition of coming together, in the safest way possible, with an exciting game, a meal and Stella Artois,” Lara Krug, executive director of marketing for Stella Artois, mentioned in the statement. “Stella Stadium Bites makes sports homework easy, and for anyone who needs a little extra guidance, Eli and Victor are ready to go a little lower with digital play-calling to save you from making mistakes.”

To that end, Super Bowl champions Cruz and Manning will return to the MetLife Stadium field, where they once played as teammates, giving fans play-by-play recipes.

On Thursday, Cruz chatted with him about what he’s been craving lately, along with favorite family recipes and plans for the big game.

Do you have any favorite game day snacks in the house?

Cruz: We’re Puerto Rican, and my mom makes every Puerto Rican dish by the book, so we have flautas and tostadas. They are like our fingers when we watch television.

What are your plans for the Super Bowl this year?

Cruz: Open up a great big box of Stella Artois, put together a great big meal and sit back, relax and enjoy the game.

Did you acquire a new hobby or favorite food during quarantine?

Cruz: 2 items — one is cooking. Cooking isn’t necessarily as easy as Rachael Ray makes it sound. I recently started cooking, during the first six or seven months of quarantine, I made cacio e pepe, I produced Asian fish that I discovered and recipes.

The second is golf. My daughter has been wearing golf clubs since she was five and talked me into it. I started attending courses to go golfing with her, socialize, have a good time. So, golf and cooking are two things I picked up during quarantine.

What is your favorite recipe in the box?

Victor Cruz: Ooh. It has to be flank steak with all the vegetables. This is exactly what a Sunday meal should look like. People can use this box to enjoy and take the leg function away from cooking on game day.
