Gary was a musician for 57 years. He was an excellent trumpeter, bassist and pianist. He played in Buttercup, Chopsticks and Singapore when the band Prodigy (Tracy Bros.) toured.
Gary also played bass for years with Luther Guitar Junior Johnson with whom he toured the United States and gained notoriety as a blues musician.
Gary was born on December 12, 1954 in Solvay, New York, the son of Vincenzo “Jimmy” Alia and the late Diego (Greco) Alia. He died suddenly on June 1, 2021 at the age of 66.
Vinny’s mom, Kim, was born on October 21, 1956 in Ticonderoga, NY.
Kim attended Moriah High School through his senior year and graduated from Lakeland High School in Florida. She was an artist who was very astute, she had an eye for design and loved vintage clothing and antiques. She cared for her beloved horse Thunder while she grew up and remained the focus of many of the stories she told her grandchildren.
Kim sold cars at Robert’s Chrysler Plymouth in Fitchburg during the 1980s and 1990s. He gained extensive knowledge of cars and continued to sell cars at various dealerships throughout his career.
