The video begins with a text insert flashing across the screen – “These meteor rocks come from the Moon, Mars and space.” The video then goes on to show different meteorites, small pieces of which are inserted into the wristwatch.

A voice on the video explains that the stones are “extremely rare and valuable.” As the video progresses, people see a cosmic clock and meteorites embedded inside its dial. The video ends with a full view of this unique watch.

According to a blog shared by GWR, Switzerland-based watchmaker Les Ateliers Louis Moinet SA set the record for this watch on July 31. The watch is named ‘Cosmopolis’ and features 12 different meteorites emblazoned across the face of the watch. To watch.”

How was the watch made?

GWR also told about the processes involved in making a wristwatch. “First, a design that could showcase the beauty of 12 different meteorites while still providing a contemporary aesthetic had to be considered. The final design was eventually chosen to be an 18k rose gold case forty millimeters in diameter held by a black bracelet.”

“Next was the process of precision cutting the meteorite. Each meteorite presented a unique challenge due to the difference in fragility to avoid any loss during the cutting process,” they added. Once the preparations were complete, each part was integrated into the watch in a “painful” but “careful process”.

Why was the clock created?

“For us, achieving the title of the Guinness Book of Records is an exceptional recognition of our commitment to innovative watchmaking and pushing the boundaries of creativity. It is the culmination of years of hard work and cooperation with excellent partners. It also represents an ongoing tribute to the legacy of Louis Moinet and our unrelenting desire to push the boundaries of watchmaking. We are proud of our achievement and determined to continue creating extraordinary watches that take the world by storm,” Jean-Marie Schaller, CEO and Creative Director of Les Ateliers Louis Moinet, told GWR.
