What are passwords?
The solution was passkeys, a system that does away with passwords in favor of more secure on-device verification methods, such as face matching, fingerprint verification, or even the PIN users enter to unlock the phone. The idea is to get rid of the password system and with it all the risks and problems that come with it. What you need to enable passwords
Passwords can be enabled on both mobile and desktop platforms. If you want to enable passwords on your smartphone, make sure it’s running at least iOS 16 or Android 9. Also, if you plan to use a physical security key, like the ones Yubico makes, make sure it’s at least FIDO -2 certified. .
To set up desktop access keys, make sure your computer is running Windows 10 or macOS Ventura. How to create a password on your phone or tablet

If you’re an Android phone user, passwords are stored in your Google Password Manager and are synced across all devices signed in to the same Google account. For Apple device owners, it is iCloud Keychain that helps them.
The steps to create a password are generally the same for most websites, although there may be some subtle differences depending on the website/app you are creating a password for. As an example, here is a step-by-step guide to creating a password for your Google account, both on Android and iOS.
Step 1 – On your phone, open the web browser of your choice and open the website using the key. You will now come to a page where you need to sign in with your Google account.
Step 2: Depending on your two-factor authentication, you’ll receive an email notification and/or a notification from Google asking you to confirm that you entered the password and attempted to log in. If you have not enabled two-factor authentication, you will be taken directly to the next page after entering your password.
Step 3: When you set up your passcode, you will see a list of all the devices you are logged in to. For some of the devices, the access keys are generated automatically because Android devices automatically generate access keys when you sign in to your Google account. For others, like an iPhone or iPad, you have to touch blue use passwords button.
Step 4 – After tapping on the blue button and confirming the iCloud Keychain prompt, a message will appear on the screen telling you that a passkey has been created for the device. touch the blue Made, And it’s ready.
