What is WhatsApp message editing feature?

In a recent Facebook update, Mark Zuckerberg announced that people can now edit their sent messages within 15 minutes of sending.

A version of the same feature is being tested and WABetainfo has stated many “After announcing that some key features are in development such as group polls and WhatsApp Premium, WhatsApp is finally working on editing text messages for a future WhatsApp beta update. for Android, iOS and Desktop!”

This new feature could save people the embarrassment of accidentally sending the wrong message. Sometimes messages are autocorrected incorrectly, or a tipfeler error occurs that can change the entire meaning of the message.

Previously, people could only edit messages with the Delete and start over option. This can be time consuming and inconvenient, especially if the message is long or important. The new editing feature allows users to quickly and easily correct mistakes without deleting the entire message.

How to use WhatsApp’s message editing feature?

To use this new feature, users must have the latest version of the app. The update is rolling out slowly, so it may take a few days for the update to be available to devices. WhatsApp in recent post mentioned, “This feature has begun rolling out to users worldwide and will be available to everyone in the coming weeks.”

• The user can edit the message by long-pressing it and selecting the “Edit” option.
• They can then make their changes and hit the submit button.
• Recipients can also see that the message has been edited just like WhatsApp notifying the deletion of the message. However, they will not be able to view the original version.

It is mentioned on the WhatsApp blog “From fixing a simple typo to adding context to messages, we’re excited to give you more control over your conversations. All you have to do is long press on the sent message and select ‘Edit’ from the menu up to fifteen minutes later.

“Edited messages will be displayed ‘edited’ next to them, so people you message will know about the edit without showing the edit history.”
