The U.S. district judge, David M. Lawson, lessened the hip-hop mogul’s prison sentence period from 360 months to 324 months, meaning that Meech will be freed three years prior to the original release date.

The change in the sentencing guidelines since the former leader of the BMF, Meech, was convicted is the prime reason behind his entitlement to his sentence reduction.

Reportedly, Meech was granted early release under the USSG amendments 782 and 788. The rapper has been behind bars for 15 years now since his imprisonment in 2008.

50 Cent, one of the best-selling rappers of all time and an inductee of the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame, who at that time was working on the TV series Black Mafia Family couldn’t be happier on hearing the early release grant news.

The TV series ‘Black Mafia Family,’ features none other than Meech’s own son Demetrius ‘Lil Meech’ Flenory portraying his character, Da’Vinchi, Myles Truitt, and more.

So far, two seasons of the television series surrounding the story of the Black Mafia Family have been released. The second season created by Randy Huggins was dropped on September 26, 2021.

During his incarceration period, the hip-hop mogul adopted the moniker ‘Big Herm.’ He completed classes in health awareness, parenting, and money management.
