The U.S. district judge, David M. Lawson, lessened the hip-hop mogul’s prison sentence period from 360 months to 324 months, meaning that Meech will be freed three years prior to the original release date.
The change in the sentencing guidelines since the former leader of the BMF, Meech, was convicted is the prime reason behind his entitlement to his sentence reduction.
Reportedly, Meech was granted early release under the USSG amendments 782 and 788. The rapper has been behind bars for 15 years now since his imprisonment in 2008.

So far, two seasons of the television series surrounding the story of the Black Mafia Family have been released. The second season created by Randy Huggins was dropped on September 26, 2021.
During his incarceration period, the hip-hop mogul adopted the moniker ‘Big Herm.’ He completed classes in health awareness, parenting, and money management.

Big Meech brother Terry widely known as Southwest T was released to home confinement on May 5, 2020, due to the outbreak of COVID-19.
Released on a compassionate home arrest grant, one of the two founders of the drug empire, Terry serves the rest of his sentence period on house arrest.
