She is a commentator, master of ceremonies and honorary president of several community and civic organizations in the Chicago area. Micah is a member of the Tutoring Chicago Advisory Board and the Chicago Children’s Choir Board of Directors. She is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., the National Association of Black Journalists, and the civic organization Links, Incorporated. In January 1998, Micah began working as a medical reporter and co-anchor for Chicago’s WGN-TV. Micah covered entertainment news and special assignment stories, including the historic inauguration of America’s first black president, on all WGN newscasts.
