Arsène Wenger, full name Arsène Charles Ernest Wenger, was born on October 22, 1949 in Strasbourg, Alsace, France to parents Alphonse and Louise Wenger. He also has two siblings. His parents owned and operated an auto parts company. He attended school in Obernai.
He also served in the army and fought on the Eastern Front when he was 24 in October 1944. As for education, he completed a three-week language course at Cambridge. He also studied for his coaching badge at the Strasbourg Center de Ressources, d’expertise et de Performance Sportives (CREPS). In 1981, he obtained a diploma in management in Paris.
