Imagine a cooking show. Now replace food with wine. They are the Masters of the drink. The competition show was dedicated to creating memorable and unique drinks for the grand prize of $100,000. Twelve contestants, including Lauren Paylor, participated in its inaugural season, and were eliminated one by one until only the final three remained.
The winner of the series, Lauren’s ability was arguably the best of the previous episodes. And while the judges thought she was slow and playing it safe, Lauren upped her game from episode 3 onward, eventually capturing the title of The Ultimate Drink Master.
“It’s been a year since we started filming and Drink Masters premieres October 28 on Netflix. Who will be crowned the Ultimate Drink Master?” Lauren wrote on her IG ahead of the series premiere.
Did you know: Lauren was officially a waitress at the Emmy Awards before her Drink Masters debut. She was also a spirits judge at the TAG Global Spirits Awards and ASCOT Awards.
Lauren Paylor’s Career
Lauren Paylor has always been passionate about math and science. But before completing her studies, she began serving drinks at the Drink Company in 2014. The following year, she became a bartender and eventually head bartender. So, satisfied with her work, she turned her math and science skills into a talent for brewing.
It’s no wonder that before making any cocktail, Lauren first notes and calculates each ingredient before mixing them all together.
Now returning to her work schedule, Lauren worked at Nelson’s Greenbrier Distillery from 2016 to 2017 as a brand ambassador. In the same year she joined Hotel Palomar and Urbana Dining and Drinks as Food and Beverage Manager and she worked there for 3 long years.
From 2018 to 2019, she was also a waitress at The Dabney and Colony Club.
From 2019 to 2020, Lauren worked as “General Manager/Bar Manager” at Dos Mamis.
And in 2020, she joined the Riggs DC Hotel as a waitress, resigning there in April 2022 as head of production for research and development.
In fact, 2020 was a good year for her. The star became a brand ambassador for The Bon Vivants’ Seedlip that year. She also joined Speed Rack as their social media coordinator and later founded Focus On Health, a company that provides hospitality professionals with tools and resources to improve their lives through health and wellness education, programming, and outreach.
Now, as of 2022, the star is a member of the Hospitality Fund’s Racial Justice Committee and head of research and development production for Silver Lyan. He has also served drinks at various venues including Last Call Bar, Cranes, Cotton & Reed, Happy Hours, and more.
Thanks to her success, Lauren was even inducted into the prestigious Ladies Hall of Fame in March 2022.
