Obi Iyiegbu, also known as Obi Cubana, has had a rocky start to 2022.
The president of the Cubana Business Group was arrested on Friday, January 14, in his residential area in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, for alleged links to the illegal narcotics business.
The 46-year-old man, a club owner, was taken to the NDLEA headquarters in Abuja, but was released after being questioned for almost five hours.

Obi Cubana allegedly received money from three convicted drug traffickers from Malaysia, Nigeria and India. Which led NDLEA agents and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission to investigate her business.
- “There are suspicions that he could be a drug lord. Some convicted traffickers deposited funds into his account.
- “We were able to identify three of those payments.
- One of the people who deposited money into his account was convicted in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; another who was sentenced in New Delhi, India; he also paid money into his account, while a third person who was arrested at Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos and convicted in 2017 also paid money into Cubana’s account,” a source told Punch News.

At the time of writing this article, the club was allowed to go home to collect the documents that would be filed with the NDLEA as the owner of the club.
In a recent post on her official Instagram account, Cubana said that this year she will show the world what she really does for a living.
