A woman with a severe nut allergy had to buy 48 peanut packets on a flight. But why? She wanted to prevent anyone from opening them as she is prone to anaphylactic shock and has experienced it on a flight when someone near her opened a peanut packet.

On July 13 when, 27-year-old Leah Williams was travelling with Eurowings from Düsseldorf, Germany, to Heathrow Airport in London when she had to buy these peanut packets.
She had taken a flight earlier that day on a business journey from London to Düsseldorf. She said that the flight’s cabin crew was happy to make an announcement about her allergy and avoided providing nuts to passengers.
Williams, however, said that when she boarded the trip back to London, the cabin crew denied her request to make an announcement. She said that she was informed by a flight attendant that it was against airline rules, reported Insider.
According to the Mirror, the cabin crew dismissed her concerns. So, in the end, Williams ended up buying all the peanut bags from them which cost her three euros per packet (approximately ₹200.)
“He wasn’t even looking me in the eye. I think he was getting frustrated I was holding up the line. I said: ‘I’ll buy them all so you can’t serve them. I don’t care how much it is. If you’re not willing to help me this is the only thing I can do. The worst thing was they actually asked if I wanted to take the peanuts, and I said obviously not,” Williams told the Insider.
Williams also said to the Mirror, “Eurowings should be ashamed of how they handled this situation and for the way they made me feel.”
