Woman rides bike dressed as Zomato delivery agent, CEO Deepinder Goyal responds

Zomat CEO, Deepinder Goyal reached out to Xu to issue a clarification on the viral video of a woman riding a bicycle while wearing a food delivery company’s t-shirt and carrying a food delivery bag. He shared that the company does not endorse or support ‘helmetless cycling’. Additionally, Goyal claimed that the outside entity was merely capitalizing on his company’s name.

It all started when user X tweeted a viral video of a woman wearing a Zomato T-shirt and carrying the company’s food delivery bag while riding a bike. Along with the video, he said, “Indore #Zomato head of marketing had this idea. He hired a model to drive around with an empty Zomato bag for an hour in the morning and an hour in the evening. @zomato is in the game.”

After the tweet went viral, Deepinder Goyal shared Zomat’s stand on the video. He retweeted the video and wrote: “Hey! We had absolutely nothing to do with this. We do not support cycling without a helmet. Also, we don’t have a ‘Indore Marketing Head’. This seems to be someone who is just ‘free riding’ our brand. Having said that, there is nothing wrong with women delivering food – we have hundreds of women delivering food every day to support their families, and we are proud of their work ethic.”
