The nine-day Navratri festival began on October 15 and will end on October 24. During this festival people worship Maa Durga and her nine forms. Amidst the celebrations, on the third day in Rajkot, an extraordinary event took place, where women performed ‘Garba’ while driving cars and bicycles with swords in their hands. Now the video of their performance has gone viral on the Internet and delighted netizens.

“Women in Rajkot perform ‘#Garba’ on motorcycles and cars with swords in hand on third day of #Navaratri,” reads the caption of a video shared on LinkedIn.
The video shows women dressed in traditional ‘Rajputan’ attire performing the ‘Talwar Ras’ dance to pay homage to Goddess Durga at the Rajvi Palace in Rajkot. Former Chief Minister of Gujarat, Vijay Rupani was also present at the event. Talwar Ras or sword wielding is an integral part of the cultural heritage of Gujarat.
