JRPGs and games in general tend to throw out the more mundane parts of life in order to create a more enjoyable game. With the exception of survival games, where things like eating, drinking, sleeping, and the like are core mechanics, you usually don’t have to worry about the basics like you do in games. Xenoblade Chronicles 3 it certainly doesn’t try to introduce such survival mechanics, although cooking is certainly a thing, and it does have one very odd option you can do while resting.
You may notice that during your long journeys and difficult battles, your party’s clothes will start to look a bit dirty. While realistic, it’s not very common for games to make your characters dirty and require you to actually do laundry to make them look fresh. However, that’s exactly how it works in the Xenoblade Chronicles 3. There are no laundry mats or dry cleaners in this fantasy world, so you’re left to do your own cleaning. How to clean clothes
Cleaning all dirty and shabby clothes Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is very simple. You can do this basically from the beginning of the game (chapter 2) and it doesn’t require any special items or materials.
Step 1: Find a place to rest.
Step 2: Select the glitter shirt icon on the far right Clean clothes.
Step 3: The whole party’s clothes will now be fresh as a flash.

What does cleaning clothes do?
You might be wondering, and with good reason, why you should even bother with this mechanic. Obviously, your characters will look better if they’re not running around all dirty, but is there any other benefit to fresh clothes?
Mechanically, no, there is no downside to running around in stained t-shirts and pants for the entire game. However, over time you’ll start getting short shrift from your party about feeling dirty and gross, eventually leading to a scene where you’re forced to wash up.
