The footage was posted to Facebook by Snake Catchers Brisbane & Gold Coast.

The picture shows an apparently innocuous trimmed green bush by the pool.

But the simple image turned out to be a stark warning to homeowners that there aren’t as many snakes on their property as they once thought.

The deadly snake proved to be a master of disguise by hiding among the leaves before revealing itself to the world.

Social media users were left scratching their heads after being confused by the image.

But did you see it?

Several Facebook users initially struggled to locate the snake as they scanned the image for clues.

“Blue head on the bottom of the plants,” one user guessed.

“It’s on the green plant,” said another.

“If it’s not that, it looks strangely like another slippery head,” a third claimed.

“Right near the bottom leaf of the succulent plant,” guessed a fourth.

The company later released an enlarged version of the image, showing the snake slithering onto the terrace, just inches from the pool.

“Oh that took me forever,” one user commented.

“There he is…cheeky little creature,” added another.

Experts from the Snake Catchers group suggested that the reptile, which looks like a snake, might have been by the pool for some reason.

A company spokesperson told Newsweek: “Snakes often use pools for reasons such as shedding their skin or getting rid of external parasites.

“People can also help make their pools wildlife-friendly by providing equipment to help animals get out of the pool.

“It’s not just snakes that use pools, other animals like rodents, lizards, and even large mammals like koalas can view a pool as a valuable water source.

“Pool toys can help animals get out of the pool.”

Meanwhile, users were challenged to spot a deadly snake hiding in a thicket ready to pounce.

Also, how quickly you spot the cunning snake in this forest scene can show how smart you are.
