Zack De La Rocha’s injury

A TMZ report claims that on July 11, 2022, while Zack and his bandmates were performing at Chicago’s United Center, something went wrong with the famous singer. After only four songs, Zack began performing “Bullet in the Head” while standing on one leg.

Zack addressed the crowd about his injury just before the start of the next song, “Testify”. Louder Sound claims the singer told the crowd: “I don’t know what happened to my leg now.” However, you know what? This fucking thing will continue to be done. I can lean over this platform. Tonight we will perform for all of you.” As expected, the audience lost.

Career of Zack De La Rocha

De la Rocha and Tim Commerford first became friends in elementary school, and in junior high school they joined the band Juvenile Expression, where they both played guitar. De la Rocha developed an admiration for other bands including Minor Threat, Bad Brains and The Teen Idles after becoming interested in punk rock groups such as The Clash, The Misfits, Sex Pistols and Bad Religion. He joined the hard-edge band Hard Stance in 1987. Hard Stance’s complete discography was officially released by Indecision Records in 2018.

By 1988, Hard Stance’s lead vocalist Eric Ernst had left the band, so Rocha took over. The remaining members, now without a guitarist, got in touch with Vic DiCaro, whom they knew from a previous band they were in, but had never rehearsed. This group, now known as Inside Off, started out heavily inspired by bands such as Minor Threat and Bad Brains and quickly became involved in the youth movement. The EP No Spiritual Surrender, which was their only release, was available through Revelation Records in 1990.

De la Rocha has collaborated with DJ Shadow, El-P, Muggs, Dan The Automator, Roni Size, DJ Premier and Questlove on a solo album he has been working on with his production partner James Poyser since Rage Against the Machine disbanded. The album was never completed, so de la Rocha began working with Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails on a new project, which produced around 20 songs. Reznor called the effort “excellent” but predicted that it would never be recorded because de la Rocha was not “ready to make a record” at the time.

Zack De La Rocha Controversies

Zack de la Rocha, Rage Against The Machine bandmate Tom Morello, praised him, saying that he thought he was a better performer than 99% of other frontmen “in the history of all time”, even when they were injured.

Due to tearing his ACL on the second night of Rage Against The Machine’s Public Service Announcement 2022 reunion tour at Chicago’s United Center, de la Rocha had played Rage Against The Machine sitting down the previous year. After only 18 concerts, the band was forced to postpone all further dates due to difficulties with a leg injury.

Rolling Stone asked the Rage guitarist how he felt about the frontman’s injuries after learning he was “pretty badly” damaged. “Well, the irony is that I had just recovered from a ruptured Achilles,” says Morello. “I used crutches during rehearsals. The gait was recognizable. Zack, however, persisted that night. He outscored 99.99 percent of all frontmen in history over the next 17 shows while sitting on a box in the center of the stage.

“It was completely unexpected, but the fact that he was a soldier…and not just a soldier, but was able to be the electric, persuasive, powerful transmitter of truth that he is, while remaining relatively still, was quite impressive.” , says the speaker. No one who watched the show told me they thought she lost any of her power.

The 2023 North American tour, which was set to begin last month, was also canceled by RATM due to a leg injury.
